Condition Overview
Onychomycosis is the medical name for fungal nail disease. It affects two to fourteen per cent of the adult population. Symptoms may include white or yellow nail discoloration, thickening of the nail, and separation of the nail from the nail bed. Toenails or fingernails may be affected, but it is more common for toenails to be affected.
In the past, this condition was treated by oral medication and other topical treatments. We can now treat this condition safely and effectively with our laser machine. The Quanta Duetto laser is tuned to a specific frequency that obliterates cells responsible for the fungus by raising the temperature under the nail bed, in turn creating an inhospitable environment.

How do I know if I can be treated?
Our clinicians will carry out a detailed consultation to establish whether laser therapy is the right treatment for you. You will also have a patch test prior to treatment to ensure laser treatment is suitable for you.
Are there any other treatments available?
Treatment for a nail fungus may include topical creams, gels, nail varnishes, or oral antifungal medications.
